Orange Sunrise Rotary members joined 1,000 Rotarians from around District 5320 at the 3rd Annual Rotary Night with the Angels to End Polio Now on August 20, 2011.

The event, featuring a pre-game tailgate party and chili cookoff, raises funds and awareness for Rotary’s efforts to eradicate the crippling disease around the world.  A portion of tickets sold was donated by the Angels organization to The Rotary Foundation.

Orange Sunrise raised $1,100 in ticket sales and donated another $500 during the chili cookoff, taking the prize for most donations raised during that event.  Although Orange Sunrise submitted a delicious black bean chipotle chili, prepared by member Amy Bippus, the club lost the title to the Rotary Club of Placentia.

Club members and guests enjoyed the game in a club suite and were treated to an Angels win in 12 innings.

A concert followed the game by the group “Mercy Me”.
