Orange Sunrise Rotary members participated in a massive day of service at the Orange County Food Bank on January 21, 2013, Martin Luther King Day. In recent years, MLK Day has become a national day of service with hundreds of organizations and thousands of Americans participating in hands-on-service events. OSR members joined the 200 volunteers working the first shift at the food bank, packing boxes of food for distribution to local seniors and families. Over 3,000 boxes were packed that morning by the volunteers, who included busloads of students from UCI and area high schools. The day was organized by One OC, a group that coordinates volunteer events throughout Orange County.
