The 19th Annual Orange Plaza Car Show took place under sunny skies in Old Towne Orange on April 21, 2013. Twenty-one “stand by” entries joined more than 400 pre-registered hot rods, street rods, classics and customs around “the circle” and filled Chapman Avenue and Glassell Street.
A crowd of 12,000 visitors enjoyed the area restaurants and classic rock and roll from DJ Thumper. Emcee Rex announced the many raffle prizes to be won and let the crowd know when Sturgeon Brothers Racing was about to fire up the alcohol-fueled dragster.
Nearly 40 vendors, including local hot rod shops, Home Depot, and Selman Chevrolet chatted with visitors and car owners throughout the day.
Proceeds of the Orange Plaza Car Show are used by Orange Sunrise Rotary to fund its charitable projects during the year, including Back to School Backpacks, Blessing Bags for the homeless and sheltered, books for local elementary schools and the annual El Modena Interact Leadership Scholarship.
Members of the El Modena Interact Club, Rotary Innerwheel and dozens of community volunteers assisted with the show.
Orange Sunrise Rotary is proud of its 19-year relationship with the City of Orange, which makes the Orange Plaza Car Show possible!
