15th Annual Orange Plaza Car Show

Car ShowThe 15th Annual Orange Plaza Car Show was held on April 19, 2009.  More than 425 classics, customs, hotrods and streetrods were on display, vying for more than 30 trophies. Crowds were estimated to be between 10,000 and 12,000 attendees.

The car show is the primary fundraiser for Orange Sunrise, providing the operating budget for the following Rotary year.

The show is a joint project of Orange Sunrise and the YMCA of Orange.  The YMCA and other community organizations operate vendor booths where they sell water, t-shirts and other items to raise money for their own community programs.

The El Modena Interact Club provides volunteer support, as do the Orange Police Explorers, and the Orange Innerwheel.  Each of these organizations share in the profits of the show, either directly through sales of items at the show, or through the financial contributions made by Orange Sunrise Rotary to them throughout the year.

The show is also supported by local businesses who are vendors at the show and by the Orange Plaza merchants.  A “poker walk” contest encourages spectators to visit local businesses around the Plaza area.
